Now that I am living with my parents, weekend meals involve television.
Documentaries are funny if you imagine that you are making a documentary about documentary narrators. Also - many other things are funny if you imagine the cast are all sock puppets.
I think that my beer of choice is no longer imported. Probably because of the thing where you can scratch to get a naked lady. I did have another one, as part of another dessert lunch. And I managed to convince the co-luncher to also go straight to dessert. But they had tea as the drink. read more »
I dislike the hospital treatment.
Today I had to see the dentist in the afternoon, to get the final crown on my hysteria causing snapped tooth. And the steroids mean I can't have an anesthetic. I told a very concerned looking dentist that I would just have to take it, and go ahead without. The tooth is dead anyway - not even a tooth left there anymore - so just the gums would hurt. read more »
I see snippets of TV while getting cups of tea. Today's news snippet has informed me that there is a "Barbie Week". Mildly annoying of itself, but very annoying that this was on a news broadcast.
At work today various people got a laugh because my mission in life "is to beat spell checks". I then had agreement from people about various spell check annoyances.
I have to hunt down the alleged 'clippy' letter thanking someone for a job interview. read more »
I think the mystery music DVDs are from Wynnstay Rd! I'm just happy that came to me, because we had thought they must be my uncle's. I can't think who at Wynnstay was a Christian though.
And - Gladiators is back on. I'll have to see whether I like that like I liked the old version.
Not smoking is going well. But - I'm wondering whether I really do need chill pills. I've had a nice calm think, after spending some work time thinking about 'calm', and the current theory is that nicotine withdrawal plus my normal nature = some kind of obsessive freak. read more »
Watching TV tonight, there was an ad for an upcoming 'Bourne Identity' double showing.
The guy looked so familiar... I thought it could be Brad Pitt. I use Brad as an example of how I don't recognise anyone. Like, I know he was in 'Fight Club', but I don't recall what he looks like. I just know he was 'the one with stubble'.
So I told a flatmate that the Bourne Guy looked familiar, but before I could ask whether he was Brad, I was told it was Mat Damon. Mild humour ensued, and I assured some flatmates I didn't think anyone could be Brad. Females clearly aren't Brad. Old people aren't Brad. The two flatmates in the room aren't Brad. read more »
I watched some of A Current Affair (ACA) tonight. There was a story about a pub owner who has shut up his business in a storm of protest over how unfair property taxes have forced him to the wall.
I am not sharing my opinion about the story, or property taxes in general, because I can't be arsed. What did get me riled up was the end bit where drinkers were given a few seconds of air time each, and the thread ACA chose to edit together and air was about Labor. The punters seemed to be saying that they were traditional labor-voting types, but that may change because they thought Labor was for the Workers - and look at the poor publican, what's Labor doing for him?!
I think it's a sad state of affairs when 'Labor people' can't spot a worker anymore. See, the publican pays his staff a wage and keeps the profits made with their sweat and blood. Thus - he is an (evil) Capitalist.
