sk8ing anyone?

I scored just over 5,000,000 on Apeiron the other day, so I'm at a respectable thirteenth on the high scores. Which is good.

I think I'm going to take up rollerblading. Or, in-line skating. Whichever you prefer. I spoke with a lovely, helpful young man with a view to purchasing skates... but they didn't have a pair in my size. Somehow they did have one skate in my size but the other was larger. If anyone else has a hankering to rollerblade... we could form some kind of posse.

I noticed on that trip to the shops - I was not approached by any person, freak or otherwise. That is quite unusual. Normally I can't get out without someone try ing to talk to me and I've been paying close attention to this phenomena for over nine months. The most recent notable one was about a month ago I had some wierd guy say hello on the bus, the follow me to the othe rside of Northland, chatting away.  read more »

There's a slapping on way

The game ran a bit late today. Good game, did a bunch of good stuff. And, so help me, I am going to slap a fellow player. This is the first time I have reverted to jaw clenching since finishing work, and now I have a headache.

The last time I experienced in-game tension was when we were arguing about not much. Getting bogged down trying to work out plans. We had the tense time out, and things have worked better, like we're being good and agreeing on plans without too much fuss over detail, thinking as a team. Stuffed if I know where the hell the plans went... We go in to see a mage with the plan of blow-darting him to the land of nod, and instead of that this player climbs out a window. After that I stomped off to a 'pub' (which served tea) and sulked. We were attacked, kicked arse, and claimed the ears of an enemy to impress some people. Then there was a plan to approach this wizard again. But instead of the direct approach this player suddenly decided to fake life threatening injury. Which looks pretty stupid when they clearly are not injured, and the other party members are taken by surprise and aren't acting like they have a mortally wounded buddy. I tried apologising to the wizard, but it was all downhill from there and I stomped off again. Which I reckon was sensible given the lightning bolts and death which followed.  read more »

It's okay - that was in character.

I think that Saturday's game could be summed up as "It's okay! It's okay, we're all in character, and everything is o-kay!!" There was tension galore.

I think I forgot to mention here that my other character died. And that's okay. It seemed to stress the other players more than it did me... it's a bummer and all, but the thing is that it's a game and you just roll up a new player. I'm a bit annoyed that I did something half-arsed and was mauled to death by a large dog... but that's okay.

So I started a new character on Saturday. Tension galore. Bad-scary tension.
In-character tension. So there was a kind of time out, where there was some out-of-character 'what the hell is going on here?' tension. And it seemed to get better after that, so hopefully next week will pick up.  read more »

(How wrong I was)

Started a new game yesterday, and no - J. is not someone who makes the People Lynne Would Want To Harm list. So that's cool. Game scenario is cool. Grenache Shiraz didn't seem too cool... but I think the issue was that mini musks are compulsive sweets, and the two don't go together.

It was funny. I got in the car in the afternoon and basically repeated my last entry in the flesh. Arm-waving and all. Then after I'd met J he said something mild and stopped to say he hoped he hadn't offended with that. So someone calmed him with a 'That's okay - you should have heard Lynne when she got in the car.' Amusing.  read more »
