Not that I really forgot, and I do intend to never do eX-mas again... but here's a good one.

This morning I was told that someone had a great day shopping yesterday. And, the bag of goodies on the table are their gifts, so we all just need to pick one out and wrap it for them. I guess they then get handed over on the big day.

This doesn't dent my state of mind, it's just like seeing something unrelated to my own life. I find it interesting to think about how the whole point of the season has become so astonishingly... lost.

A short while ago, there was much parental shouting. Then Mum knocked just to let me know - she is going to buy rice.

I'm enjoying being unemployed so far, and today I feel like my brain is starting to spin up. I've also had this awesome realisation... with multiple desktops and imitation post-it-notes, I have a cool magnetic poetry equivalent.  read more »

To start with an aside - I don't think I've mentioned here that nowadays I count my grumpiness as a life skill.

Today I spoke with my brother about his life skills, which now include moving shit. Serendipitously, I had asked him whether he wanted a fridge / freezer pair at the exact time he was thinking about getting a new fridge. This morning I confirmed that the size was good. So he rents a trailer and comes right over to pick them up.

I saw him use a perfect bend-at-the-knees lifting technique to pick them up and put them on the trailer. No tipping, dragging, or sliding.

Blew my mind.

Lately I have been wanting all my subjects to be like "Moving!". Not sure whether my life is suddenly exciting, or all the emails from former co-workers with their hyperactive!!! punctuation are rubbing off on me, or maybe it's some little known form of MS related brain damage. (!)  read more »

I took the day off work today. Had a long and painful dental appointment. 'bout 90 minutes, and there was blood and tears.

Beforehand, I figured it was about time I banked my loose change. So I got bonus CDs on the way to pain.

Okay... Catastrophe Client. I had an aneurysm getting shit packaged up today. I did a damn good job, and explained my artful floristry to the exec. Happy as an exec can be in the circumstances. Possibly because I do a good job, and I think that was more apparent given that previous briefs must have been near zero. I warned him that I stick to honest assessments, so if I think something is wrong... I have no trouble with the client knowing, because I intend to fix it.  read more »
