Customs Suck At Packing

I got some nice CDs from Sweden... and the delay was Customs. Which is fine, but they really suck at repacking things. They suck real bad. Also - what you don't see on Border Security is a bloke making concerned noises at the x-ray image and shaking his head about it not being right, and all the time opening the suspicious package... that really is CDs.

I also got a tonne of CDs locally. Then an email from Slappa that some nice CD storage is on sale. So that's handy.

Heaps of books. This is what happens when I get an email saying 30% off and free postage.  read more »

That Icing Was So Tasty

Well. Today somebody didn't understand 'Is there any cheese in it?', so I got a bit ill. For the record, icing made with cream cheese is really tasty. I should have made myself vomit earlier, but someone walked me to the chemist, and the chemist got me some water so I could take many more pills than the packet said. Then I got a lift home, threw up and went to sleep.

Yesterday we got home made ice cream.  read more »

What Was That?

Signs

At work we had a bad-busy stretch, and I am sharing a desk and phone with a woman on the edge. We had a day where her one genuine laugh (that I witnessed) seemed to be after she said that she didn't know where her time had gone. I explained that losing time is one of the signs of alien abduction.

Later in the week I could smell sausage rolls - but other people could not. That led me to wonder whether I was having a stroke, because that could be one of the signs. There really were sausage rolls though.  read more »

This Is My True Calling

Not having to go to work is awesome. But it's better when you still have money, so the plan is to get another job.

I did explain to CD store guy that, if I get another job at the last rate, I would be happy to work three or four days a week. Then I bought a stack of CDs and a Skinny Puppy t-shirt.

Then I went and bought some books. And some expensive chocolate.  read more »

The Great Rice Emergency Of Aught Nine

A short while ago, there was much parental shouting. Then Mum knocked just to let me know - she is going to buy rice.

I'm enjoying being unemployed so far, and today I feel like my brain is starting to spin up. I've also had this awesome realisation... with multiple desktops and imitation post-it-notes, I have a cool magnetic poetry equivalent.  read more »

Today's Observations

Shorter observation, which made someone sad. When people talk about Michael Jackson and say "I loved him when I was little!", they don't want to hear why that makes you think he's like Hi-5.

I was disagreeing with someone about foyer furniture. I stand by my position, that it is orange, and generally hideous. Funny thing is that... in the 60's, people thought that furniture of the future would look this way. Joke on mankind is that, with retro style, furniture of the future DOES look that way!
