In a similar vein to home veterinary successes, I have ventured in to home dentistry. I have to say that this is nowhere near as good as what a dentist does though.
I am halfway through a crown, with a temporary tooth. Temporary tooth popped off late on a Friday (they know when it's a weekend, I swear). Not wanting to leave it out (maybe putting it under my pillow) or swallow it in my sleep... I invested in denture fixative cream.
Happily, dentist has confirmed by phone that this will see me through until Monday - if I'm real careful. Unhappily... this is the kind of thing that makes one crack the sads.
I have located a very nice chicken souvalaki local to me. I was surprised... not a normal souva, but very good.
I got my redundancy money yesterday. It makes up for my splurge after finishing up, plus some extra. I tried to get a sales guy to talk me into a 'time capsule', and he sucked. He sucked bad, so I just got some games which I'll probably play twice.
I am gettin' real good at hospital Fridays. Today I watched blood draw back into a giant plunger. read more »
Now that I am not using my brain for work... it gets me up at 4am and starts me thinking about site upgrades. So
1) Things will be intermittently odd
2) I'll try real hard to stay calm
3) Breakage is not an option
A short while ago, there was much parental shouting. Then Mum knocked just to let me know - she is going to buy rice.
I'm enjoying being unemployed so far, and today I feel like my brain is starting to spin up. I've also had this awesome realisation... with multiple desktops and imitation post-it-notes, I have a cool magnetic poetry equivalent. read more »
Now that I am living with my parents, weekend meals involve television.
Documentaries are funny if you imagine that you are making a documentary about documentary narrators. Also - many other things are funny if you imagine the cast are all sock puppets.
Something that really cheers me up... when birds are feeding on the native shrubs outside my window, and filling the spring air with the sounds of their happy industry - I like the little [donk] of my cat hitting the inside of the window just before those birds freak out and leave. read more »
Actually, heaps is going on!! But I should keep to my 'no work' rule.
The guy I most often buy Tatts (lotto) tickets from is an annoying pain. But we may have now bonded after I noted that George (Tatts founder) is probably dead. He agreed that yes, he's well dead. So, I explained, George isn't angry about selling competing lotto tickets, because George isn't angry about anything anymore. read more »
