I feel sick and my cat is a freak

I am really disliking the adjustment to the new drug. Suffice to say that it goes better if I don't eat. I don't even want to eat. This will probably chew through the stores I put on with the last drug and being ravenous all the time.

My cat loves her thing on a string. It's a ring from a plastic milk bottle, with a length of string tied to it, and she spends her day following me around the house with it. Recently she started pushing it under the toilet door when someone was in there.

Now she likes to put it in my waste paper bin by my desk. She jumps up on the bookshelf and leans out with the thing in her mouth, and drops it in. The really fun part (for her) is then jumping down and tipping my bin out to rescue the thing on a string. I really suspect she does this to shit me, and thus get my full attention, while I am with the computer and not with her.

Also, tech support seem really unsure what to do when you're extra nice instead of frustrated. They're probably ready for frustrated when the start the "It works fine for us", so instead I find it fun to say things like "That's really great that you can do it!". Then persist - because if they can do it... they must be halfway to fixing it for you! Exclamation marks help, too! And if you're really chipper because it's such a pleasure to deal with tech support, I think it gives them the impression that you'd be happy to keep on going and going - because they're doing great and you know they'll fix it sooner or later! (Always be sure to say Thanks!!, too.)

My last stint in hospital I explained this technique to other patients who wanted to be mean to people. You have to be sincere and not at all sarcastic, it helps if you come across as 'perky', and people either decide you're lovely and stop annoying you, or they get confused and think very carefully about what they say to you. People really avoid causing conflict when you respond with perky good humour and words of encouragement.
