Since my brain has not been cooperating with the bash and kill games, I have taken to The Sims again.

And that's all fine until I try to download new objects. There always used to be a smattering of evil crashy user created objects out there to download and enjoy, I can deal with that and have a neat little tag and test system that lets me escape with minimum pain. My current run has been appalling, and I am getting a headache. Things aren't in 'buy' mode... I can grit my teeth and check for a GUID conflict. Then some things disappear after you've bought them... and that would be thoughtless people not flagging the downloads as needing certain expansion packs. Things that lock the entire game or crash the Mac - I would like to email the creators and share my pain.

Instead I am about to venture into their object code and butcher it until it fucking well works. I just hope my brain cooperates with this, or I'll have to fall back to the plan where I share my pain in a series of tasteless emails which rock the Sim object making community.
