Okay. I just survived 5 internetless days, then caught up, and last couple of days we've been seeing speeds bottoming at 24kbps. Yay.
Things that have happened over the last couple of weeks include:
I went to get some chocolate, and near the start of working through my list to get a box made up, I was offered a free one. So that went in my mouth right away. At this store, a queue forms behind people like me, when we pick 6 of x, and 4 of x, and 6 each of x and x. This queue was entertained when I realised this stops working when your mouth is full. I was holding up fingers for numbers, then pointing to my selection in the little box insert which tells what each chocolate is.
Forget whether I mentioned a horrific IT meltdown at work, and they ended up using the fire alarm PA to tell us what was going on.
Went for drinks at an RSL, and someone had loaned someone their member card so we could get in. It was an old card, before the RSL started to add photos. Borrower cruised through "You haven't had your photo taken? Stand over there.". So now the guy who nicely loaned the card... he doesn't look like himself anymore.
I still miss all the inner zone graffiti, and saw a plaintive "art used to live here" near Burnley.
Institutionalisation. People think of this as applying to army, prison, uhm... zoos? I would like to add Art School. They get stuck reacting to the Art School world in a way that's appropriate... then get out in to the rest of the world and they just can't adapt.
At work I was treated to a fucked up interaction with my source of stress. This happened in front of various people who mostly gave me some confused looks. Shortly afterward, our new chick approached me and asked "What was that?". Which sums it up pretty well.
Saw 'Exit Through The Gift Shop', which was not at all what I expected after it got going. Still very good though. Been seeing quite a few movies lately.
