I just made it through "OMG... Cancer!" again.
As a chick, you get forwarded all these crappy "OMG - BREAST CANCER!" emails, and you get real information from reliable sources, too. If you just have the underarm symptom, you can convince yourself it's a rash. Then you get symptom number two, and, if you are me, you get to a doctor and ask them to tell you some things.
Some things I asked for (and my regular GP was away) were 'Tell me that I have a shaving rash', 'Tell me the 2 symptoms are not connected'. We did that no worries. But I had to go for a mammogram anyway. And ultrasound.
Result day today, and the tests are all good, but they recommended I see a surgeon anyways because of symptom 2. So I had a great negotiation with my regular GP. She started with surgeon. I explained why I honestly don't think it's needed. She verified my points. And we're agreed that if certain things happen I will come back immediately for a referral. Immediatley is 'tell reception I'll fit you in'.
See - two grown ups communicating sensibly. Yaay.
Symptom number 2 is one that I have described as "Like a stigmata". Except Jesus doesn't have tits.
