I just want to express my rage, and my cat is sick and doesn't really understand computers so I can't tell her my problems.

iTunes is a filthy piece of crap which seems quite determined to wreck my listening enjoyment, no matter how I try to work around it.

I thought it was best, since I have an iPod, to try to have iTunes coexist with Audion. Audion is my tool of choice - even since it was 'retired'. I love Audion. But you know, you get an iPod and Apple try real hard to steer you towards iTunes. It just feels like iTunes and iPods go together.

Well, arse to that. Audion is what I use, but every time there's an iTunes update, or I plug my iPod in to the Mac... I end up wanting to find someone at Apple who is responsible and stab them through the eye with a pen. Or an ice-pick, but I don't have one of those.

Sometimes I think it's my own stupid fault for having Audion open at all when I do anything that might cause iTunes to launch. But really, it's not my fault at all that Apple's nasty little piece of work does something which locks my chosen application - then corrupts its playlists.

Apple can, frankly, jam iTunes back up their collective arse. I am going to delete it entirely and live with the consequences.
